1st Amendment Trampled - Journalist Arrested for Filming Public Meeting

Journalist Pete Tucker and Reason.tv producer Jim Epstein were arrested at a meeting of the D.C. Taxi Commission for taking pictures and recording the event.

About half-an-hour into the meeting, I witnessed journalist Pete Tucker snap a still photo of the proceedings on his camera phone. A few minutes later, two police officers arrested Tucker. I filmed Tucker's arrest and the audience's subsequent outrage using my iphone.

A few minutes later, as I was attempting to leave the building, I overheard the female officer who had arrested Tucker promise a woman, who I presumed to be an employee of the Taxi Commission, that she would confiscate my phone. Reason intern Kyle Blaine, overheard her say, "Do you want his phone? I can get his phone."

(The woman who was given assurances by the officer that she could have
my phone can be seen at the end of the video telling me, "You do not
have permission to record this!")

As I tried to leave, I was told by the same blond female officer to "stay put." I told her I was leaving and attempted to exit the building. I was then surrounded by officers, and told to remain still or I would be arrested.

I didn't move, but I tried to get the attention of a group of cab drivers who were standing nearby. At this point I was arrested.

I spent the remainder of the day in a cell in the basement of the building. I was released at about 4PM.

Woman Arrested For Recording From Her Own Front Yard

The introduction of good phone cameras and small pocket cameras has made filming every day events both quick and easy. But when it comes to filming the activity of your local police officers things can get a bit out of hand even if you are doing it from your own front yard.

New Yorker Emily Good noticed a police cruiser pull over a car infront of her house last month and decided to film what happened from the privacy of her own front yard. At first the 3 police officers in attendance didn't notice, but when they did officer Mario Masic did not like it. He asked if Good needed something and she explained she was just recording because "It's my right."

The officer believed Good was not allowed to do this "from the sidewalk," but actually she was and could also legally record from her actual position of her front yard. Masic then tells Good he doesn't feel safe with her standing behind him and orders her to go inside. She does not, she is within her legal rights to be where she is doing what she is doing.

The situation escalates with Masic accusing Good of anti-police statements of which there were none as the video clearly shows. Masic then arrests Good who is more than a little upset and confused as to why she is being targeted in this way. Other local residents watching the incident also can't understand why this happened.

The video at that link describes what part of this human body disposal facility has been constructed to bury, US soldiers. They say this is 5 years worth of human body disposal for Phoenix area soldiers and veterans. They say this is 8000 caskets worth of human body disposal. I can imagine they could fit 4 times that by wood chipper blending their murder victims. They could also cremate bodies in up faced concrete boxes like that, quite easily if they used a liquid accelerant. So if they run out of space in their concrete death boxes they can just gasify whoever's bodies were in there with flame, then fill it all up again and gasify those bodies with flame, until the drone war is done.
